Change of direction

The project started as an app helping immigrants in Canada navigate local social conventions. But research made us question its premise: it asked newcomers to adapt without inviting others to do the same. That insight shifted our vision. We reimagined it as a shared experience that promotes understanding and celebrates cultural diversity across the world.

Challenge

  • Limited understanding of experiences beyond one’s own.
  • Language and cultural barriers create distance.
  • Existing tools focus on assimilation, not exchange.
  • Few inclusive spaces for cultural interaction.

Education

Players learn by doing. Each interactive mini-game invites them to tap, move, and make choices as they explore different cultural settings. With information kits available during and after gameplay, every challenge becomes a chance for hands-on learning and deeper cultural understanding.
